1.
Waiting on the dust to settle your head held high, so cavalier behind the shades your eyes are redder it's not the fire inside your lungs it's just the ringing in your ears waiting on the smoke to clear all this talk of getting over just playing cool and playing dead drown in petty paranoia with room to stretch in empty beds waiting on the welcome sign to reappear waiting on the smoke to clear Splatter paint across the white walls shattered pride, a cheap veneer no sense in sketching silver linings leave the scientists to reinvent the wheel waiting on the smoke to clear
2.
Spoonful 02:57
That teeny tiny man on the TV got me down he wants to catch with a hook, nullify the pain just to get you on the fast train Lily white lies on the billboard, something strange too many mega million dreams, carpet bagger schemes got me reaching for my pocket change and though the news is rather stormy, my little voices just ignore me got me wishing, begging, pleading won't you please? won't somebody sell me something that i need? Shiny suits got me sipping that sweet, til i can't stand it's good for swallowing the pill, bending to the willl salivating for a fat hand i time punch that clock til the reason got a rhythm in a medicated haze, scheming up ways, sliding through the finish line and though the news is rather stormy, my little voices just ignore me got me wishing, begging, pleading won't you please? won't somebody sell me something that i need? these little pills they'd like to calm me the Television is trying to warn me that i don't have enough money to be free won't somebody sell me something that i need? Just a spoonful of sugar goin' down just a spoonful it takes a spoonful
3.
Shake a hand, make a friend hope you feel a little better in the long run shed a tear, shake a fear you'll feel a little lighter in the long run but if you love suppin' troubles like whiskey you're out of jail but you're still on parole i'll tell you walking that line you'll get tipsy just to be the turd in the punchbowl they say God only knows, so we have been told don't you wish you could put plans on hold? i've wasted some time and i slanted my rhymes trying to cut through the noise of my soul i ain't got much to show they'll hang you up, just let them go for the good times you'll carry in the long run they'll cut you down , you never know who'll be waiting around the corner in the long run but if you're tempted to speak to the demons you keep tell them all, they can wait at the end of the line the long run is ready, if your feet walking steady and you're writing that tune as you're waltzing through time they say God only knows, so we have been told don't you wish you could put plans on hold? i've wasted some time and i slanted my rhymes trying to cut through the noise of my soul i ain't got much to show
4.
Stand alone, keep them at bay i'm not surprised you've got something to say this ain't no movie scene i've seen before i can't recall what the hell i'm living for careless words, impatient tongues hear the violent laugh of the gathering song a smile comes on early, it fades too soon my head is light, i'm a tiny black balloon
5.
Ebb & Flow 03:23
Longing to feel yourself drifting to sleep without worries of deadlines or echoes of grief just hoping a few of these old miseries would just pack up and leave you catching up with your peace It's just the drop in the bucket at the tip of the hat got you crossing all jet lines, bridging all gaps to that future unwritten, just leave some space as you go for all the trickle down karma of lucks ebb and flow silently wishing for the ties that could bind to fill that echoless space between your heart and your mind in that vacuum so quite you suspend disbelief in love's limitless fault lines and shard empathy
6.
Waiting Up 03:36
Waiting up, it's too late for thinking thoughts, i can't take i hurt you too i never say sorry street lights dim as the traffic slows the midnight hand starts to doze i'm counting sheep in werewolves clothing you think i'd know my heart it gets so heavy when my mind moves slow fighting pillows bloody trying to hold on dreams hope they're not half as hollow as they seem 3 AM, i'm rehearsing lines i check the phone a thousand times and where are you? with your head so heavy and lovers say that if you take the time it will be all ok put all the past behind and make all my wrongs right but who am i tomorrow in the day light?
7.
Not too much to do all day long i pour my fears into the telephone i stare at the screen a little too long a thousand windows open up i drain them all like coffee cups the anxious bitter grounds down at the bottom of the well but do you care? about the show? or who'd you see? or where'd they go? everybody knows Not too much to say when i get home i lost my tongue that lazy vagabond i couldn't speak a word to raise some hell but i'll click again , the link is dead the firewall inside my head says burn it down but i don't hear a word do not disturb this peaceful glow these memories all silicone oh mama please write back to me oh daddy how'd we get so free? so free it hurts so free it stings so free it burns so free it rings not too much to do all day long sit around and write myself a love song i can't decide which me to choose the I and I or the me i made for you this precious glow my pretty face i calculate i fill my plate until I'm stuffed with 1's and 0's i've had enough
8.
Let It Bleed 04:30
Just hang it up say so long and you won't have to wake up every morning trying to hang a peace where it don't belong Let it Bleed unclog that hole under your heart don't let the cowards and lily livered's feed while 3rd rate lullabies explain how red wine blushing, whiskey stains you wrapped your soul in cellophane now all your ramblings sound insane As you let it go , watch it fly take a good look while the picture is pretty before it's out of focus and out of style let it breath our wartime treaties can't exchange a salty tear for passing pains what's left after this hurricane has blown away my feeble brain just stitches ripping at the seam tear 'em out and let it bleed let it bleed Bleeding out your nose Bleeding out your ears Bleeding out toes Bleeding out your fears
9.
Pack your bags, will it all fit? you've brought a lot of extra shit but now the zipper won't quite close the turn style blues around they go out to the train you'll have to catch that black balloon these old regrets will float away and when you let them float away and when you let them and now your motor is working overtime the mix tape deck inside your mind can't track the song you need to hear could make you shed a single tear you never cried when you were young you couldn't stop, enjoy the fun of wasted nights before last call don't blame it on the alcohol just one more shot and down it goes and where it stops nobody knows the baggage claim slows to a grind that carousel you can't rewind the red eye that you didn't catch your luggage never made it back now circus sounds wash through the doors a carnival you've known before is waiting out in concourse B and everywhere if you believe

about

Slow Parade Atlanta, Georgia

Slow Parade was formed out of the need for a new extension. The goals were explicitly implied through means of analog conversion : follow sonic bliss until it exceeds the order of 38 db RMS above unity gain, translate the oft mud caked melodies back to silver vibrations of which they were born , catch the tail of the echo loop that does knows no decay. ... more
